Tuesday 3rd September – Windsurf ** The Manor at Felixstowe – cloudy start then sunny.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Severne 1000 with a Tushingham Storm 6.5.

After windsurfing 4 days in a row with a run of poor sessions I was looking forward to having a day off especially as the day started gloomy, we even had some rain in the night! Then Robert posted that he was hoping to go to Levington so I checked the forecast and it did look promising with a 15/20 breeze from the south so I decided to keep an eye on it which gave me plenty of time to do my exercises, The wind continued to be marginal so Mag and I headed to Lidl to do a big shop and there looked loads of wind so when the shopping was put away I decided to head down to Squiz Lane at The Manor and was lucky to get a good parking spot:) The sun was out and I got a reading of 17 mph on the gauge so things were looking good, my usual set- up means the 6.5 and I set off with the tide now dropping and had a really good run out getting over 18 knots so it was looking like it was going to be a top session, sadly not as I gybed and failed to get flying again as the wind eased back:( I should have come in and rigged my 7.5 or even the 8.5 and I think I would have had a good session. I stuck with the small sail for a few floundering runs before finally giving up and headed in. Swainy was there on his bike so I had a chat with him followed by a quick snack. The wind looked like it had picked up a little so I headed out again and pumped up twice and had two really good runs in super smooth water before it eased back again, if only I had the 8.5 rigged!
